After some time of continuous operation, a full reconditioning service of the plate heat exchanger might be required.

It can be part of a regular maintenance plan as a preventive Service measure.

Kelvion offers a reconditioning service that will get heat exchangers up and running quickly and reliably. This involves the following ten-step process that guarantees a first-class result every time.

  • Initial inspection and  report

  • Removal of old gaskets

  • Cleaning the plates with chemicals (acid or caustic bath) or high pressure

  • Dye test and second inspection

  • Removal of dye test residues

  • Cleaning the gasket groove

  • Final inspection of each plate and replacing damaged plates

  • New gaskets fitted

  • For glued gaskets – tensioning of plate pack and glue curing in an oven

  • Final inspection and quality checks

 

 

 

After a proper reconditioning service, the unit is ready to perform 100 % again.
There are no issues after start-up because of a gasket not well installed, or an unexpected shutdown due to an internal leak because of cracked plates.
